Chanukah: The Days of Light

Light the eight candles,
each one burning slowly.
The light first was given off
by something Divine.

They prevented our worship,
kept us from ourselves.
We were not us until
that blessed day of Freedom came.

We needed the light to see
the Holy walls around us.
We lit the oil that we had,
and watched it burn eight times
more than needed.

We revolted and took back
the temple in the name of Shiloh.
Yahweh is the name of glory;
in He we were victorious!
A poem commemorating Hanukkah. :)

--------------------------------

I wanted to do this poem in honor of my Jewish brethren out there. I have always been fascinated by the Jewish culture. It is so wonderful! :D

--------------------------------

I, although knowing of the menorah itself, didn't know much about Hanukkah. I have always been curious about what it celebrates- and what the purpose of the menorah is in relation to such celebrations.

I did a lot of research in order to do this poem. However, if there is something I got wrong, please don't hesitate to tell me. I want this to be accurate! 😊

Yahweh :)

I love learning the Hebrew words for things like God or Earth, makes the Bible really cool to read.
